OUR VISIT TO THE OLD MARKET OF CHANIA

The Greek students of Erasmus+ project “Mission Possible Health”, together with their teachers, organized a visit to the Covered Old Market of Chania on the 8th of February 2018 to observe the variety of Cretan Spices and Herbs. We stopped at a few shops of the Old Market and we asked the owners some questions. They answered to us that the most popular Cretan Herbs that customers prefer are: Origanum dictamnus, Sideritis syriaca, Salvia fruticosa and Origanum microphyllum. About the Cretan Spices the most popular are:  Oregano, Thyme, Basil and Spearmint. Also on the way to the Old Harbor of Chania we observed that Cretan people have planted spices in pots at the balconies of their houses for their own use as you can see from the above photos.
